Reflecting on 2019 at Rohrer Bus

Hello friends, we were just reflecting on how many cool things happened with the Rohrer Bus team in 2019! Looking back on those memories made us happy, so we’d like to share a quick recap with you before we get too far into 2020!

  • Last January, we welcomed our 1000th member to the Rohrer Bus Facebook family! We’ve shared and interacted with each other so much since then, and have gained about 250 more members over last year.

  • Starting in the winter months, we hosted 4 sets of New Hire Breakfasts to celebrate our new teammates and have a great time getting to know them better.
  • 2019 was the first year in a while we’ve published consistent quarterly newsletters!

  • We celebrated February, “Love the Bus Month” by opening up our lovely online apparel store, and giving out a bunch of heart stickers. (let us know if you’d like us to hand out stickers again!)

  • In April, our teammates earned Third Place in the Dancing with the Stars competition, and raised money for the East Pennsboro Education Foundation.
  • In May, we held a “Test Drive a School Bus “ event in the middle of Harrisburg.
  • Also in May, we hosted the Local School Bus Safety Competition, and we’re so proud to say that all of our teammates represented Rohrer Bus very well! 28 of the 43 competitors were Rohrer drivers, and we had 5 of our teammates move on to participate in the State Competition!
  • In June, our aforementioned teammates participated in the State School Bus Safety Competition in State College, and represented Rohrer Bus very well!

  • We of course held our annual company picnic at Knoebels in June! We had the largest turnout of all time (924 Attendees!) Who’s excited for the 2020 picnic?
  • In June, we held ANOTHER Test Drive event, this time in Hummelstown.
  • In July, we had our first Test Drive a School Bus event in the Hazleton area, and it was a great success for the first time!
  • In August, we had a MEGA Test Drive a School Bus in SIX of our districts -Lower Dauphin School District, Cumberland Valley School District, Susquenita School District, South Middleton School District, East Pennsboro School District, and Hazleton School District
  • Also in August, we earned two spots (see the first and second stories here)  on CBS 21 and helped educate our local area on School Bus Safety!
  • National School Bus Safety week is in October, and we took to social media to spread our best School Bus Safety advice!

  • Our teammates from many of our districts did a great job decorating their buses and going all out for local Halloween parades.

  • In December, we ran a sock drive inspired by Socks for Sadie, and we collected HUNDREDS of pairs of socks to donate to charity. Thanks to the whole Rohrer Bus team for your generosity!

  • Finally, in December, our office teammates took part in many holiday festivities, including an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest, a holiday decorating contest, and the Kid’s Christmas Party.

We’d like to know what your favorite memory of Rohrer Bus in 2019 was! Let us know in the comments if there’s anything else you want to add to this list. Thanks for reading, and we hope you join us in making great memories throughout 2020!
