Becoming a school van driver for Rohrer Bus is an extremely rewarding job. However, because of the safety sensitivity surrounding the work we do, there are several qualifications and certifications a school van driver must obtain before getting behind the wheel. – Be 21 years of age – Read, write, & communicate in English clearly – Pass a physical examination, drug screen, & tuberculosis test (Questions? Click Here) – Have a satisfactory 10-year driving record, FBI Background Clearance, PA State Criminal Record, & PA Child Abuse Clearance (Questions? Click Here) |
– Must be able to work weekdays from approximately 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM & 2:15 PM to 4:45 PM. – Earn approximately $30-$60 per day, based on your assignment. |
– Overall training will take about 15-20 hours. Some capable, motivated candidates could to it in less time. – 7 hours are classroom training. – 8+ hours of hands-on, in-van training. This training covers how to properly transport wheelchairs and car seats, as many students transported in vans have special needs. This training typically occurs between 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM on weekdays. |
