Position Description-Transportation Supervisor
Position Summary
Will lead a team of professional school bus and school student vehicle drivers in providing safe, reliable, and exceptional transportation services to our customers.
Essential Job Functions
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct and contribute to regular team meetings.
- Seek additional opportunities to provide transportation services. (ie: field trips, athletic trips, summer camps, charters, etc.)
- Promote available employment opportunities throughout the community using a variety of mediums.
- Attend meetings and workshops to enhance your effectiveness as an organizational leader.
- Maintain skills to remain effective and efficient in performing all job duties.
- Ensure your team is properly informed regarding all company announcements and policy changes.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Ensure customer satisfaction by planning and supervising all daily company activities within AOR.
- Ensure all contracted work is appropriately staffed and performed to the customer’s liking.
- Support, promote, and enhance our company’s strong commitment to safety
- Offer assistance to all team members, as needed.
- Analyze team members performance regularly and provide appropriate feedback.
- Communicate effectively with all others committed to customer’s and company’s success.
- Promptly submit all necessary company correspondence and paperwork.
- Perform all other reasonable customer requests.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to read, write, and have the mental capacity to manage all necessary correspondence and paperwork.
- Must possess exceptional human relations skills, namely customer and employee relations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively through all mediums. (ie: verbal, written, etc.)
- Must possess satisfactory administrative and organizational skills.
- Must have sufficient computer skills. Including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Email, and internet navigation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License and School Bus License with appropriate endorsements.
Experience and Work Requirements
- Must have previous leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience.
- Must be able to pass a physical, drug test, & necessary background checks.
- Must be hard working and committed to seeing the job through.
- Familiarity with the pupil transportation industry preferred, but not required.
- Must be flexible in daily activities and able to perform work in all types of conditions. (ie: sitting, standing, walking, driving, etc.)
Leadership Responsibilities
- Will train and instruct fellow team members on company procedures and specific job duties.
- Will set goals, monitor progress, evaluate results, and provide feedback to drivers regarding their job assignments on a regular basis.
- Will work closely with all company departments (Accounting, Maintenance, Payroll, Transportation Scheduling, Safety, etc.) in sharing information to make timely decisions.
- Will professionally and successfully represent company as first point-of-contact for our valued customers.
